Intel Core Ultra 5-245K 14-Core 14-Threads Desktop Processor
An essential component of the new generation, the Intel Core Ultra 5-245K Arrow Lake desktop CPU sits between the enthusiast market, which is dominated by the 285K and 265K.
The core configuration of the Intel Core Ultra 5-245K is 6P+8E. That equates to eight Skymont efficiency cores and six Lion Cove performance cores. Unlike Lunar Lake, both core types share a 24 MB L3 cache and are housed on a single CPU core complex. Since its launch on Lunar Lake, Skymont has been heavily marketed for providing an IPC jump of around 50% above Crestmont, placing it in the league of P-cores. Intel claims that the Lion Cove P-core offers a generational IPC boost over Raptor Cove. This is the Core Ultra 5 245K’s secret weapon, particularly in a market where consumers are budget conscious.
